8 Standout Books of 2024 (So Far)

Despite the fact that it still requires an embarrassing amount of brainpower for me to consciously not date things “2023,” we are already more than halfway through 2024. I took some time to reflect on the 35 books I’ve read this year and eight books jumped out at me as favorites.

All of these books feature female authors, with 50% being diverse authors. Half of them were published in 2024, with another one published in late 2023, and 50% were enjoyed via audio format. I’ve also got two nonfiction, two magical realism, and five from new-to-me authors.
