Don’t tell the other months, but January is my favorite reading month (and thank goodness for that because the rest of January… 😮💨). There’s something about the post-holiday mental margin gained and the fizzy new-year energy that lends itself extraordinarily well to my reading life.
The time offline through the holidays and into the start of the new year helps quiet the voice of should in my head when it comes to what to read. It allows me to fully embrace my mood-reader ways—and that’s exactly how January played out. It was an amazing reading month; every book I picked up meant something to me and kept me craving more.
