It seems I've been in my coastal grandma era for years now. 10/10 recommend limiting the news consumption. I used to look at the news first thing in the morning, but I had to stop. I love evening walks and have been reading a lot more newsletters on Substack.

🙌🙌🙌 Yessss. A few years ago I found myself mindlessly swiping left on my iPhone to refresh the news headlines and I realized it was a big source of anxiety, especially climate related news. Removing that feature was one of the best things I've ever done for myself.

I finally got back to my Pilates studio after my daughter was born a year ago! She did a summer package sale and I couldn’t resist, so that’s been great. Also definitely keeping our days unscheduled and easy. I turn 40 on Monday and am going out on a sailboat with some friends and my parents today. So I’m just calling this summer sailboat summer and leaning into the sailing vibes haha!

Thank you! The sailboat was amazing! The weather was perfection and it was very fun. My husband surprised me by having a photographer there so we should have some really fun pictures.

I have carved out small blips of time for yoga and running throughout the week! The best thing I’ve done for myself in awhile.

I went to bed while it was still light out last night! :o) It was kinda awesome.

Windows are closed and walks are veryyyy early here in Austin. But when I get to California next month--windows OPEN. Can't wait.

In bed when it's light out is the best little indulgence! Especially in this NBA post season-- being on eastern time is not for the Coastal Grandma aesthetic. 😅

Does Austin get humid too, like other parts of Texas?

I realize costal grandma isn’t about buying stuff lol but I love your home aesthetic and would love to learn where you get things or how you decorate! For example, where is your amazing couch from? It looks soooo cozy! And how do you keep your house organized and cleaned with 4 kids! I struggle with my 2 kids.

hahaha I'm with you!! Thank you thank you-- trust me, there is a lot of crap all over this house! I struggle with clutter so I'm on top of it often but we also have a lot of out-of-sight-out-of-mind spaces which is very helpful. And I've learned to just accept that our walls will have muddy handprints on them and the couch will be a host to many smears of peanut butter and jam. 😂 This couch is from Interior Define-- we previously had couches from Six Penny Home that looked almost identical and they were a DREAM, SO COMFY! But the pets wrecked havoc on them so we had to replace them with something sturdier and so far these couches hold up well. I need to do a steam clean after the summer is over.

Aw you're the best for the shout out, thank you! I love these ideas. I try to keep my windows open during the day in the summer and use the AC only at night, when possible. Love the fresh breezes and using fans!

Yes on hot days you gotta have some AC to cool you off at night-- I'm a miserable person if I have to sleep in the heat.
