I love a niche piece--and basketball! My younger son was a b-ball player--my life was basketball the last few years. I KNOW A LOT. I'm more into the magic of the NCAA, but the NBA is fun (and they actually play defense here and there in the finals hahahah). Love that you had this incredible experience! I love that the Finals this year are not the big markets. You cannot "buy" a championship this year LeBron!
I hope one of my boys plays, that must have been so fun!! Haha and the Thunder are known for their defense actually, which is very fun to watch! Hahahahaha yes sorry superteams!! I'd love to see more homegrown teams in the Finals in years to come... ideally the Thunder 😝😝
This was such a fun read!!!! (Also- the magazine cover is amazing! 👀) While I don’t love basketball- I DO love the Dodgers! My dad was a lifelong superfan, so I naturally followed suit. My husband and I even went to a Dodger’s game at Dodger Stadium on our honeymoon 🤣 Much like your experience this past weekend- there was no greater joy than watching the Dodgers win the World Series last fall. My dad passed away in August, and we all came together to watch the games. He would have been so proud! It was such a wonderfully bittersweet moment. 💙
OKAY NOW I'M CRYING!!! 😭 I love that Melinda. I actually lived in SoCal birth to age 10 and went to a few Dodgers games, but the fandom never stuck with me. My stepdad was a BIG Cubs fan so we got into them when I was in high school and went to many a spring training games out in Phoenix since we could drive out there but my attention span struggles with baseball on TV. Although now that the game is sped up a bit more with the new rules I should give it another try.... though I can't imagine rooting for another team since my husband is a Red Sox fanatic lol.

THUNDER UP!! OMG aren't they just the cutest?! I love them so much. 🥲🥲 I never thought another team could compare to that first Thunder team but these kids are a blast to watch. That J-Dub performance in Game 5, HOLY SMOKES!! And SGA, what a guy. 🥲
Seattle SuperSonics 😮💨… one day we will get a team back🤞🏻it’s fun to see merch still being made! When they moved I dabbled in finding a new team, Spurs, Suns but after meeting my other half while watching a Warriors game… it’s been our team ever since. Huge Curry fans over here. This post is amazing and I think it’s so awesome to see people passionate about a sport and their history to why.
Oh man I feel for you. 💔 The Australian fan said “I could either follow them to OKC or not have a team” but I know as a Seattle resident that has to have been such a bummer. 😞I hope they get a new team. 🙏 Though I’d be TERRIFIED to play them. 🤣
My brother recently moved there and is not a follower of the NBA. My husband and I tried to convince him he should wear a Thunder shirt about two. That people there would love it!!! 😝😝😝 He was wise to our antics

I’d have to agree- baseball on TV can be 🥱😴 Good to have on in the background while napping or meal planning, etc….
And yes- spring training in Phoenix!!!! I think going to those games was an actual requirement of living in a surrounding state 😆
