It’s been 15 weeks of A Simple Thing, and this week, I thought it would be helpful to check in and hear from readers about what has worked for them—what small but meaningful improvements have made a difference in their lives.
A simple thing to do this week…
✏️ Reflect and revisit.
Since launching this series 15 weeks ago, we’ve covered a lot of ground. This feels like the perfect moment to pause, look back at a few posts worth revisiting, and hear from you.
A look back at some past topics:
What’s been working for me:
deleting photos daily – I’ve really enjoyed this daily routine of looking back at my digital memories while also managing the digital clutter, it feels like I’m starting to make some progress and regain control of my camera roll, which feels amazing.
gratitude journaling – On days when the news is overwhelming or I’m feeling down the practice of identifying a few things I’m grateful for really helps me shift my perspective and end my day on a high note.
unsubscribing from promotional emails – With less emails coming to my inbox I have less to manage and thus don’t need to stay as on top of my emails.
starting my day with soothing instrumentals – This simple act makes my mornings so peaceful.
prioritizing self-breast exams – Having a reminder for myself in the shower has made a huge difference.
What I’d love to focus on next:
Making gratitude journaling a daily habit again.
Prioritizing breathwork more intentionally and regularly.
Taking more moments to look up and be present.
Doing the work to change my mind about something.
Unsubscribing (again!) from new promotional emails now that the holidays are behind us.
Let’s chat! I’d love to hear from you in the comments:
Have you tried anything from this series that has benefitted you?
Is there something you’d like to revisit and give another go?
What would you love to see covered in an upcoming post?
Thank you for being here and for joining me in the pursuit of simple things that make life better.
I love being a frozen berry girl in winter! I've been popping some berries in the microwave for a minute before adding some cottage cheese and granola on top - they get this sweet jammy quality to them that's so delish!
I started keeping a daily journal and have been enjoying the practice over the last month. Tonight I'm starting a 12-week mindfulness program that I hope will benefit me in a season of life that feels chaotic. Looking forward to what you share next!
