Lovin' Lately no. 30: May
An ode to the old newspaper days! Body oil, deep cleaning bliss, and everything I love about May.
Lovin’ Lately is a monthly roundup of the good things in life and the sentiments I’m carrying into the upcoming month. Imagine we’re catching up over coffee, and I’m gushing about what I’ve been Lovin’ Lately…
Hello & happy May!
Wherever this finds you, I hope you are enjoying the fresh gifts of the season— the fragrant flower buds bursting, the smell of rain, the warm sunshine. I’ve got all the windows open and have been deep cleaning the house for the past week (like, vacuumed under the bed and cleaned out the medicine cabinet deep!), and I feel complete *bliss*! Tonight I’ll enjoy my favorite homemade pizza and crawl into fresh sheets with my book. Heavenly!
While I’m unabashedly a fall girlie (my birthday is in late September), May has quickly climbed the ranks as one of my favorite times of year. Vermont is generally celebrated for autumn, but I think spring in New England is greatly underrated— the perfect temperatures and the blossoms, oh the blossoms!! This month will bring bright pink buds from our mature crabapple tree filling my bedroom windows, the return of farmer’s market season (!!!), baseball games at the park, lilacs everywhere, dinners on the deck, and my daughter’s 2nd birthday. 🥲 What a sweet time of year.
I’ve switched up the formatting of this newsletter with a greater emphasis on visuals. I’ve seen others on Substack getting creative with formatting and throwing things back to print magazine styled and after indulging in a handful of digital magazines through Libby last month, I too felt inspired to shake things up— you will have to let me know what you think! I had a lot of fun creating everything, and I like the focus on visuals for this feature.
With that comes a tiny bit of housekeeping— since this newsletter is shared primarily in graphics, any corresponding links will be shared in the caption of the graphic. Of course, if there is anything else you want me to share that I didn’t link, drop a comment!
You may find this extra enjoyable on an iPad or tablet. Perhaps with a freshly brewed lavender oat milk latte, next to a sunny open window, in your comfiest linen pants, with some spring acoustic music playing. An ode to the old newspaper days. Without further ado, pop a daisy behind your ear— here’s what I’ve been Lovin’ Lately as we frolic into May…

LOVE THIS SO MUCH OMG. The vibes are impeccable. You may have sold me on the giant sunscreen situation, especially as we edge closer to pool season. Also now I feel like I need to go wash all the things in my house that I hate washing haha
LOVE the new layout of your newsletter. And the spring vibes, so joyful! We're finally getting blooms here but the rain!!!! Not sure if you've had as much up north. Wishing for some sun.
