Sunday Menu 🥑🥞🌮 no. 1
My cookie dough hack, kitchen tunes, the best salt (that's a thing?!) and what's cookin' this week...
The Sunday Menu from Brittany’s Notebook is a look at what I’m cookin’ up this week, kitchen jams, fave ingredients, and other reflections on all things delicious. Grab a snack and let’s hang out in the kitchen…
Hello and happy Sunday. ☕️ Welcome to the very first Sunday Menu where I will share what meals we are planning for the week ahead and anything else noteworthy about my time in the kitchen (which if you didn’t know, is a place I enjoy spending a lot of time). Maybe you are in a rut with what to eat (been there, lots!) or maybe you're not feeling excited about spending time in the kitchen (also been there!) or maybe you are looking for a shift in what you are eating and why (yep, you guessed it, I’ve been there too!) or perhaps you just want to learn a thing or two which is something I find I am always looking to do in the kitchen. Either way, I’m glad you are here as food is one of my very favorite topics of discussion. 😄 Pour yourself something comforting or grab a crunchy snack and let’s dig in.
I’ve always got something playing when I’m in the kitchen— be it my current audiobook (my hold for Iron Flame just became available!) or Caspar Babypants (for the kids…) but lately, it’s been music (especially because my baby often joins me from her exersaucer and very much enjoys the combo of music and watching me dance and cook). Here’s a mini playlist of current fave kitchen jams in which you will see the range of my musical tastes which right now are heavily saturated in 1989 TV vault tunes (why are they SO GOOD?!) and Noah Kahan.
My two big kids are out of school for the next week and a half for February break so our meals this coming week look different than typical. Since it wasn’t in the cards both logistically or financially to make any travel plans for this break we’re indulging in a bit of a staycation. I also want to use the time with my kids home from school to try out some new sandwich spreads and see what they like so we can expand what we pack in their lunchboxes for school, I’m including what that looks like this week too.
