Sunday Menu 🥑🥞🌮 no. 3
My 77 (!!) pantry staples and a plethora of meals you can make with them!
The Sunday Menu from Brittany’s Notebook is a look at what I’m cookin’ up, kitchen jams, fave ingredients, and other reflections on all things delicious. Grab a snack and let’s hang out in the kitchen…
Today I’m swinging open the pantry doors and pulling out my spice drawer to show you the essential ingredients that I always keep stocked and ready for a variety of meals. This is a deep dive so for brevity's sake (which you probably know by now is NOT my strength) I’m not including a meal plan for the week but don’t worry there are tons of meal ideas and recipes sprinkled throughout here and if you have any specific questions about a recipe or ingredient my comments section welcomes you with open arms.
I was borrowing Iron Flame on Libby but my time ran out at 25% so I started Annie Bot (out 3/19) on audio and I look forward to any time I get to listen to it! I’ll share more in Lovin’ Lately this week.
Additionally this week one of the best sounds I was able to enjoy while prepping a meal was the sound of my 7yo playing with my 9mo. They were having so much fun together, he would put her toys on her exersaucer table and she would knock them all off which they both thought was hilarious. Then she would try to put a toy fish in his mouth while he pretended to eat it, they both giggled endlessly and it was a good reminder to hit pause on the music and audiobooks sometimes and just enjoy the soul-nourishing sounds of the beautiful life around me.
Last week I polled what you wanted me to share this week and the overwhelming victory went to pantry staples. Grab something to sip, and let’s dig in to all 77 of them!
From left to right, top to bottom!
rolled oats— we have stovetop oats just about every week for breakfast but we also use them to make blender pancakes (recipe below), granola, granola bars, and cookies
nori— we use both the full size and the snack sizes in ramen, crumbled in chickpea salad (for that ocean taste), for sushi burritos, and just for snacking. Check out these 7 health benefits of eating seaweed
dried beans— I keep a supply of many dry beans on hand but black beans and garbanzo beans are our most loved and used, there are so many ways we eat these! I’ll share 3 ways to cook them and more recipes in upcoming Sunday Menus.
