Hi friends! How’s fall treating you so far? Are you enjoying the pleasures of watching steam billow off a hot mug of tea? Have you found a favorite soup recipe yet? Does your home smell like warm cookies or cinnamon apples? Is jazz music or All Too Well (10-minute version) keeping you company in the kitchen? Has your palate for pumpkin-flavored everything been satisfied? Are you well rested?
Things have been busy over here, and with the roll-out of my new weekly series, A Simple Thing, I’ve been tweaking my approach to sharing content. I have so much I want to share, but I also want to be intentional about how I do it. I’ve come up with a new strategy that I’ll detail in my Lovin’ Lately later this week. In short, I’m shifting to more of a monthly overview for my Sunday Menu and Lovin’ Lately, which will give me space to explore and share other ideas I’ve been excited about.
WIth that, let’s dive into today’s food-focused digest where I’m sharing a look at what we’ve been eating lately and a hearty lineup of soups to share.
I genuinely can’t stop listening to All Too Well (10-minute version) right now, it really strikes a chord for me in autumn. I’ve also been enjoying my autumnal playlist as a whole and dipped into a new audiobook my Pilates instructor recommended that is perfect for spooky season— Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six by Lisa Unger.
Here’s a look at the meals we have been enjoying over the past few weeks or will be enjoying over the next few weeks, all seasonal and delicious. There are lots of soups under the dinner category, and then I’ve also linked many of my favorite soups down below. Slurp up!!
🥞 breakfast:
pumpkin oat blender waffles— as easy as making smoothies but way more seasonally satisfying
stovetop oatmeal— topped with sautéed cinnamon apples (I save the half-eaten apples leftover by my kids, cube up the good parts, and sauté in coconut oil and cinnamon), walnuts, flax meal, and maple syrup
yogurt, granola, and sautéed apples— I found a two-pack of my favorite coconut yogurt at Costco this week (SO excited!!!)
