'tis the season for dried citrus and bottomless hot cocoa!

Good morning and happy Sunday! The weekend is when I typically plan out what we will eat for the week, so on Sundays, I like to chat about food. And recently, on Sundays, we’ve adopted a new curry night ritual, which I’ve paired with baking a batch of muffins and breakfast treats to enjoy at the start of the week. It’s a cozy new routine that has served us well as the temperature has dropped and the darkness has greeted us earlier. Give it a try if you’re looking to shake up your routine this winter. What a lucky thing it is to enjoy the indulgence of nourishments in the comfort of a warm home.

We’re currently in Canada a little bit longer, as my 9-year-old’s hockey team has advanced all the way to the championship game of their tournament! I’m very excited for them and also excited to get back home and have a bit of a nutritional reset. It’s a nice treat to dine out while traveling, but it always makes me appreciate being back home and having more control and autonomy over our meals.

I’m also excited to get back home and to start some holiday baking. It’s so cozy and festive to be in the kitchen, Christmas tunes playing, rolling out dough, sifting sugar, spreading frosting, all the things. Do you enjoy baking during the holidays? I love making treats to enjoy while we hunker down on the couch for a Christmas movie, to bring to our neighbors and friends, and to share with Santa on Christmas Eve, of course. Every year, we make our tried-and-true favorites and try our hand at a few new recipes, too.

Today, for my Sunday Menu, I’m sharing my baking and holiday eats lineup along with a few ideas for packaging and sharing treats with others. Hit play on the playlist below, pour some nog in your coffee (this is my fave vegan nog!), and let’s dive into all the yummy things!

First, the treats!

These are the favorites I try to make every year. I like to make a variety to share in cookie boxes with friends, neighbors, the kids’ sports coaches, my Pilates instructors, etc. I love a bit of variety in shape, texture, and flavor.
